What little news I have

Well, nothing much is happening here at Fort Drum. But here's the little bit of information that I do have. I'm assigned somewhere in 1st Brigade, which will be depoying to Iraq sometime in the next few months or so. I'm looking for an apartment for Linds and I. And that's about it. Really.

Hopefully I'll get a more specific unit assignment by this coming Wednesday. I'm sorry that nothing newsworthy has been going on, once normal life resumes, I'm sure I'll have more to say.

Aaah, Fort Drum

Here I am at a base known for it's extreme cold, and I think I may sweat to death. Aparently upstate New York is also known for it's opressive heat and humidity.

The prelimenary indication is that I'm goin to be in the HHC (Higher Headquarters Company) of the 1st Brigade Combat Team. Yup, I have NO idea what that means. It could mean that I make coffee all day, or it could mean that they don't know where in 1st Brigade to send me yet. Or they could change their minds altogether and send me to some place like Fort Stewart, GA. That's mostly joking.

If I deploy with the rest of my unit, I'll be leaving for Iraq before the end of summer. That's not set in stone, everyone else who just arrived in 1st Brigade won't be leaving until fall, but anything is possible.

Besides that, I'm doing well, and enjoying myself as best as possible. Linds is signed up the the Army healthcare system, and all is well.
